A global automotive parts company sought to reinvent and transform its business and engaged with Stratega to guide them through a comprehensive business transformation.
Approach
THREE PHASES TO SUCCESSFUL STRATEGIES
In this project, the approach involved applying Stratega’s three-phase business transformation framework to develop both short-term (Profit Optimization Plan) and long-term (Transformation Programme) strategies.
Phase 1: Initial Scoping and Project Focus
In the first phase, Stratega’s consultants conducted a thorough scoping of the company’s current operations and challenges. This initial focus enabled the team to identify key areas for immediate attention and set the stage for a more detailed transformation plan.
Phase 2: Insights & Design
Using a hypothesis-driven approach, we gathered insights to pinpoint quick wins and long-term transformational changes. This phase involved analyzing current initiatives to eliminate non-contributory projects and uncovering new opportunities.
Phase 3: Capability Building and Implementation
Over a six-month period, we focused on building the company’s capabilities, reviewing ongoing initiatives, and managing the initial transformation roadmap.
Results
FROM SHORT TO LONG-TERM IMPACT
This comprehensive approach led to several significant outcomes. The company achieved immediate quick wins by removing non-essential initiatives and developing new, profitable business models. The transfer of capability to the newly established Transformation Team enabled them to effectively manage and drive the Project Management Office.
Furthermore, the team developed a five-year Transformation Roadmap that focused on more profitable growth domains. This roadmap included aligned and synergistic cross-domain support initiatives, positioning the company for sustained growth and improved market position.
